Sound within animation

Most animation rely on sound heavily due to the visual aspect being  a 2D/3D environment. With certain tv shows like “Tom and jerry” most visual motions are equired with some sort of sound to emphasise their actions for example when Tom bumps into the dog and finally realises he is in trouble there is a instrument called the Trombone that is played in background.

List of things needed to create good sounds for animation.

  • A room that doesn’t allow sound to bounce of walls easily.
  • A good quality mic.
  • Dialogue that suits the animation (When the character talks the lips sink with the voice).
  • instruments if wanting to create music by hand.
  • software to edit with (logic and adobe audition).

Tascam DR-70D Professional Recorder for DSLR

tascam-dr-70d-4k-shooters-e1415140363610-1024x430

The Tascam comes with many features, which includes LCD screen,  gain controls, peak meters, playback buttons, record buttons, 4 xlr inputs (fully locking) and two microphones. The Tascam comes with a LCD screen allowing the user to easily change settings and see how high the levels are this is especially useful when increasing the gain.

The Tascam speakers are very crisp and clear the visual element that comes with the recorder makes it easier for the user to change the input setting to what they desire.

Pros:

  • Very clear audio
  • Visual aspect of the LCD screen makes it easier for the user.
  • all xlr inputs have a full locking system.
  • High gain with clean pre amps.

Cons:

  • Uses AA batteries, which can get used very quickly especially with a camera attached.
  • User can be limited with meta data the only option the recorder has is the choice of file name. .
