This is the rendering setting I used while creating the alien I use a high resolution due to the amount of detail my model will consist off.
I started by inserting a sphere and changing the window to the sculpting option this will allow me to develop a basic shape and eventually add detail.
I changed the size of the pull tool to 200 and inverted it so it pushed the object instead I then selected symmetry so it would repeat the pressure on both sides of the model.
I reduced the size of the pull tool and added very basic eye sockets and some bone structure on the top on the head I did this by selecting the grab tool and pulling on the object, also using symmetry.
After assessing my model I realised that the face shouldn’t be so rounded and should be thinner. I used the pull tool inverted and applied pressure until it looked like the image above.
Once creating the head I then pulled the bottom to make a neck the smoothed to get rid of creases. I Then started a base for the ears to be created on.
After making the outline of the ears I added depth within the middle to give the model some detail.
Once I had created the basic model of the alien I then created the material for the eyes this consisted of a layer texture and within this layer texture I added multiple colours within defined separation to enhance the overall design. After creating the colour I added reflectance to give the finishing touch.
Once applied to the sphere I the made it a child within symmetry making both eyes exactly identical.
I then inserted the eyes into the model.
I created a colour within subsurface scattering that would suit my model and applied it giving a small percentage of light absorption
I then added a scar on the aliens right eye to signify his past and to add more detail.
This is the finished artifact overall I have enjoyed making him and also I have learnt different aspects on the way.
